Support Oakland Youth at EOYDC’s Black Futures Ball

The East Oakland Youth Development Center (EOYDC) is gearing up for its annual Black Futures Ball on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Bloc15. This signature scholarship fundraiser has helped provide more than $150,000 in scholarships each year to Oakland youth pursuing college and vocational training, and community support continues to make that impact possible.

This year’s theme, “A.I.: Ancestral Intelligence,” celebrates the wisdom, resilience, and connection passed down through generations. In recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Black Panther Party, EOYDC will honor former Black Panther Party member and former Director of the BPP Oakland Community School, Ericka Huggins, with the Ida B. Louise Lifetime Achievement Award.
