blink!LAB IS HIRING – FALL 2026
blinkLAB architecture is a small research-based multi-disciplinary design practice rooted in the idea that historically intractable problems are solved by a deeply systematic approach to design, at every scale and in every context. Consequently, our best work emerges when we are strategic design partners to community-based organizations, governments, institutions, nonprofits, and developers who believe enduring, positive transformation requires long-term partnership

We welcome applications year-round, but have found that bi-annual hiring supports smoother integration into our project team. As such, interviews are being conducted in the Fall and Spring.
Below are current open positions for Fall interviews. High school and college interns are encouraged to apply year-round.
Architectural Design Staff
We are seeking a collaborative design professional to contribute to projects from early design through documentation and construction.
This position is organized around three core capabilities: Research · Design Computation · Fabrication.
We recognize that these are distinct areas of expertise. No candidate is expected to be an expert in all three. Instead, candidates should demonstrate at least one area as a core strength, while showing curiosity, competency, or a willingness to develop skills in the other areas. details>
Architectural Design – Leader
Civic, Education and Urban Infrastructure
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced design professional to contribute to civic, education, and urban infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on, collaborative role for someone who brings strong architectural, technical, and project leadership capabilities and can contribute across multiple phases of design and construction.
Rather than defining this position solely by title or years of experience, we are interested in individuals who bring a combination of skills in design, technical documentation, project coordination, team leadership, and construction administration, along with an awareness of the broader social impact of the built environment. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to advance high-impact public projects from early exploratory conversations and community engagement through planning, design, and construction.
Our staffing model is based on the practice of architecture and what projects actually need—not whether someone is called a Job Captain, Project Architect, Project Manager or Studio Director. details>
Architectural Design – ADU Lead
We are seeking a collaborative, highly motivated design professional to lead our Accessory Dwelling Unit Development program. This hands-on role combines architectural and technical skills with independent responsibility and coordination with project teams and external partners.
Our staffing model is based on what projects need—not traditional titles such as Job Captain or Project Manager. This position is organized around three core capabilities: Design · Project Coordination · Construction Administration.
Designed as a pathway from intermediate professional to project leader, the position develops skills in design, technical documentation, project coordination, and construction administration. The successful candidate will work with consultants and contractors to advance ADU construction in fire-impacted communities. details>
What We Value
We are looking for people who bring curiosity, initiative, technical rigor, and a commitment to collaborative practice. Successful team members may come from different professional backgrounds and career paths, but they share an ability to contribute meaningfully to complex projects, work across disciplines, communicate effectively, and create architecture and infrastructure that serves the public.
Our evaluation focusses on:
- Your core strength
- How those strengths were applied to real projects or investigations.
- The complementary skills brought to a project team.
- Areas you are interested in developing
